It’s already Thursday and I haven’t even started a “normal” blog post. I’ve been struggling just to keep up with work and getting these daily brain dumps on the blog. Part of it is due to three doctor visits in three days, but I have to be honest with myself and say that it has to do with a lack of focus when I finally do sit down and try to work.

“Why haven’t I been walked yet?” A substantially better day today, even if one of the reasons is that I have to stay hope to take care of my wife, who’s not feeling well. An idea for a unfinished short story that’s been lying around for a few years sprung out of my head this morning. This is a good thing because it means that I can finish the darn thing and that my some of my storytelling itch is finally returning after a long hiatus.

“Were you an athlete?” That’s not a question I ever wanted to hear, but I did. I went to the DEXA Scan today knowing that I’m in bad shape. The idea was to get an idea of how much. I also wanted to know, once and for all, if there was a reason why I’ve never been able to get what the averages say is a “healthy” weight. The scan itself is pretty easy.

Action Required!

The Internet age has done a great deal to improve life for those of us that can afford to take advantage of it. Instaneous communication, customized (and also instaneous) entertainment, and the world’s knowledge at our fingertips, to name just a few things off the top of my head. But one of the areas that the ‘Net has advanced the cause of humankind the furthest is in customer service. No other development in human history has made it easier to tell your clients that if they need help they should go pleasure themselves with a cactus.

That’s my rig. My kit. My stuff. The tablet lying on its back is a reMarkable. The display is Kindle-style e-paper that you can write on with a stylus. Your documents are stored in the tablet (and the cloud) and you can retrieve them as pdfs with or without conversion to text. The conversion does a great job, even with my left-handed apelike scrawl. It’s not a perfect device, but it works well enough and replaces the Moleskine and pen I’ve been carting around for a few years.

Happy Birthday Mom! You know how some writers joke about having only one reader? Yeah, well my Mom doesn’t read any blogs, not even mine. But it is her birthday. (That photo however, is not my Mom. That’s my campaign shirt. It would still be a step up.) I’m down another pound, which still puts me off pace. On the other hand, I feel pretty good and started some heavy squats and deadlifts this week since my knee feels a bit better.

Is it possible for a day to go slowly while simultaneously being full of “emergencies?” Yes, yes it is. Due to the “emergencies,” I can’t spend a lot of time here, so this post is just as much about keeping the string alive as it is saying anything useful. So please enjoy this picture of a dog that refused to say hello to me a few days ago. Bis morgen!

Not feeloing awesome today, but I still got my morning workout in. Hopefully what I am feeling is just allergies (I’m allergic to mold, and this half-assed Winter/Spring weather is perfect for that) and it passes soon. Another work-from-home today because of errands and so forth. I’m looking forward to a normal week. Unfortunately, I don’t see one on the horizon, yet. Bis morgen!
